Van Josselet, CPA
A native of Haskell, Texas, Van Josselet received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting
from Texas Tech University in December of 1974. Upon graduation, Van was employed by Gaskill, Pharis & Pharis, P.C.
in January of 1975 and became a shareholder of Gaskill, Pharis & Pharis, L.L.P. on September 1, 1980. Van continues to be employed by the firm after selling his ownership interest to Chad Miller and Nicole Wieck on July 1, 2008. Van has served the community of
Dalhart in the following capacities; Board of Directors of the Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce, the XIT Museum,
the Dalhart Country Club, Meals On Wheels, The Dalhart Area Child Care Center as well as Treasurer of the
Dalhart Lions Club and the Dalhart Rotary Club. Van was also an original Director and the first President of the Dalhart Community Theatre as well as
being elected to the Board of Trustees of Dalhart Independent School District. As a member of the Central United Methodist Church, he has served on the
Finance Committee, Pre-School Board, Chairman of the Education Committee, Administrative Board and Council on Ministries.
Earl D. Pharis, CPA
A native of Seminole, Texas, Earl received a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting
from Texas Tech University in 1959. Prior to receiving his degree, Earl served two years with the
U.S. Army - 11th Armored Calvary Regiment. He worked for the accounting firm of Barrett & Barrett, R.P.A.
in Hobbs, New Mexico from 1959-1966. During the period of 1966 to 1967, Earl was Chief Accountant for Mesa Petroleum, Amarillo, Texas.
In 1967, he became a partner with Harlon Gaskill in what would evolve into the corporation now known as Gaskill, Pharis & Pharis, L.L.P.
Earl has been a past President of the Dalhart Lions Club and the Dallam-Hartley County United Fund. He served as Cabinet Secretary of
District 2T-1 Lions Clubs. He is or has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Dalhart Health Care Corporation, Dalhart Country Club and
the Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce. Earl is the recipient of Robert J. Hibbetts Outstanding CPA of the Year Award for 1978-79. Earl is a member of St. James Episcopal Church, serving as Senior Warden and Vestry Clerk. In regard to professional accounting
organizations, he has been Secretary of the Panhandle Chapter of the Texas Society of C.P.A.s, Vice-President of the Texas Tech Tax Institute
and served as President of Southern and Western Accounting Group. Earl is now semi-retired.
Todd Matthews, CPA
A Dalhart native, Todd received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree - Magna Cum Laude, in
accounting from Texas Tech University, May 13, 1983. He has been an accountant with Gaskill, Pharis & Pharis, L.L.P.
since August, 1983.
Edgar Perez, CPA
Edgar, a native of Laverne, Oklahoma, received a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, Alpha Chi, with a major in Accounting in 1998 from West Texas A&M University. With over 11 years of Public Accounting experience, Edgar has worked for Accounting Firms in Texas and Oklahoma, having joined Gaskill, Pharis & Pharis, L.L.P. in August of 2008. Edgar served on the Board of Directors for Family Support Services in Amarillo, Tx and is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Dalhart.
